What is gen james livingston?

General James Livingston is a retired United States Marine Corps officer and a Medal of Honor recipient. He was born in 1940 in Towns, Georgia.

Livingston served in the Marine Corps for over 33 years, including three tours in Vietnam. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions during the Vietnam War. On May 2, 1968, he led his company in an assault on an enemy stronghold, despite being wounded multiple times during the battle. His leadership and bravery helped save the lives of many of his fellow Marines.

In addition to the Medal of Honor, Livingston has received numerous other military awards and decorations, including the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, the Silver Star, and the Purple Heart.

After retiring from the Marine Corps in 1995, Livingston served as the president of the South Carolina Military Museum and was also involved in various veterans' organizations and charities.
